“Don’t close your eyes"

Here is my exhibition of a short film called Don’t close your eyes which displays themes of sleep deprivation and mental health issues which is expressed through the portrayal of the protagonist as she displays that mental health is never your fault and that you are fighting your own demons not yourself. This  is represented by the antagonist. I have used symbolisation of color to reflect the type of character being depicted. For example dark colors represent death and mystery whereas grayish tones show a sense of neutrality and have negative connotations of loss and depression. I also used light colors towards the end to indicate an impression of hope and savior for the main character. Displaying the film in a simple and basic environment like a TV studio is a great way for it to be seen for its meaningful storyline.

WILDS AUTUMN/WINTER SS22

I have exhibited a fashion campaign in which I showcased a range of photos for an autumn/winter campaign with the 2000s concept. With my  theme of this campaign being 2000s inspired, I have explored different ways to give off that 2000s theme with the choices with styling and editing with my work as well as showing off my brand “WILDS”. With these exhibited pieces, it ranges of portrait and landscape photos with the logo being presented as well. The choices from the background designs were inspired from 2000s campaigns as well as popular pantone colors of the 2000s, in which juxtaposed the more minimalistic colored styled clothing, showing clothing pieces which replicate the 2000s clothing trends. As a whole, with the brand representation and the bright eye-catching colors, this makes it so it stands out and makes it more memorable to the public eye, as well as to show off the clothing/accessory pieces being promoted too.

Nightlife photography

I have exhibited my sketch book in a scrapbook style which represents different aspects of nightlife. With my  theme being Nightlife, I have explored different ways to  create and present nightlife photography and with these exhibited pieces I have  not only created a sketch book but also provided context to the nightlife book. I wanted to capture some of the moments of nightlife that people don't really see or take a moment to appreciate the views. I wanted this to be presented in a scrapbook style because I think it fits with the theme of my photography. How I did this was I went out on a few location trips in a few different places and captured some of my favorite photos using a digital, disposable and lomography camera and I edited a few of them on my laptop and then printed them and presented them.

Russia’s Foreign Policy

For my work I wanted to make a video discussing Russia’s foreign policy but to add a bit more of a spin to it by creating a shorter video with much more important information instead of a long dragged out documentary style video that goes into every intricacy as the average person would probably prefer a video that’s shorter and gives the essential details.

Marvin Mingus

Marvin Mingus is a 2D character living in a local English park during spring. He has many specific quirks which make him an outcast and is not good at many things, so he tries to find what he is good at. This short film explores the ideology of "imagination" and "nothing is impossible" as Marvin has a child-like view on the world, which forms his own possibilities. He does the impossible and turns into a tree. The cinematography is inspired by Wes Anderson and Marvin's character design reflects on his personality and state of mind. He is a form of escapism for 12-20 year olds who want to get to know a character like a children's storybook, taking people back to the comfort of being young and carefree.

Odyssey 2099

“The stories of a Samurai, a bounty hunter and a hustler become intertwined as events in their lives lead their paths to cross, and for them all to take revenge on the same man at the same time.”

I have created this project as I was inspired by the works of BrodyQuest. From then I knew I wanted to create my Animation advert similar to the design of this particular creator.  I hope you all enjoy my quirky Animation advert as much as I have enjoyed creating this project over the past 10 weeks.

“Turn Back Time” animation

I have exhibited a collection of drawings of the character that I have created in representation of my final animation. My animation is about a girl with powers to turn back time who carries a heavy burden to save her friends from disaster that happens in her present time. The presentation will feature storytelling and audio that will show the audience and express the duty my character has on her shoulders and how she feels.

My work is a collection of art that mixes both older and more modern themes.
It is heavily inspired by 70s collages and scrapbooks. I wanted to take inspiration from them and mix them with bright colours and new images to create a modern, and relatable version of these surrealist pieces. It was also very important to me that I used this opportunity to represent different kinds of people and lifestyles. I presented this through pieces of artwork that represent the LGBTQIA community.

“Ember Catcher - Narrative Concept”

The work situated before you is the product of a prompt I was given for an interview task at university. The subject was summarised using the term: “Society and The Self”; asking those who undertook this task to query the moral palette of one who resides in an abstract community and how their way of thinking would be nurtured through the sociological norms of this residence. So I wanted to write a piece that attempts to rationalise how an external perception can churn the mindsets of a settled locale, as well as allowing the audience to interject their own notions to pursue a particular destination within the narrative.
As an investigative protagonist conversing with those thriving within a beyond natural airspace, it relays the emotive burden onto the reader/user to vitalise their outlook by questioning the functions of everything that surrounds them and traverse the same ideological pilgrimage as those they seek to question once did.

For my final project, I have multiple main pieces of work including 3 videos (two TikToks and one YouTube video) and also three images that I would display on Instagram. The whole concept of this project for me was to research into what life as and "influencer" is like, and also create some pieces of content similar to what I myself consume on a daily basis. I wanted to have fun with this project as it's an opportunity to not only show of your creativity, but also your personality on camera.

Toxicity In Fashion

I have exhibited one of my six photography collections from my final major project. All of my collections discuss the theme of toxicity in fashion and also help define gender stereotyping through clothing. The message that I intend to bring across in my work is how you should wear whatever you please as long as you're happy and comfortable. Be who you want to be and let nobody tell you otherwise. My target audience helped with the choosing of my outfits along with the accessories and other creative things.

Dior Aftershave Advert

I have exhibited my final advert that I created for a Dior Fragrance. I explored different ways to portray the product and make it look as nice as possible. I also entwined some popular techniques which are used throughout popular perfume advertisements. I used techniques such as making the footage black and white to give off classy, professional connotations. I made the aftershave bottle spin to time it with the music and make this segment a lot more intriguing. The reason I started the advert like this was to use it as a tool to build suspense.

Memories

All of these A3 images have meaning. The style and aesthetic of each photo is meant to bring this feeling of nostalgia, especially to those born between the years of 1990-2009. The photos are typically inspired by the style of 90s actors casting headshots which is represented by the format and poses of the models. Aside from the images, this theme has been explored further, along with other aesthetics of photography on my Instagram page which is where I tend to express my creativity in a clean and modern way.
